Company Bios

Rick Ladendorf – Founder & Wellness Enthusiast

Rick has worked in the Private Club Industry since 1997 when he launched a Private Club Loyalty Rewards program. Rick is the founder of Prevo Health Solutions, a wellness company and executive producer of the Private Club Industry America’s Healthiest Club certification program. Rick has written numerous articles for the BoardRoom Magazine, CMAA Regional Chapters and other Private Club trade journals. Rick is a father of four healthy kids, an active volunteer and a sports youth coach.

Rick joined Eat Right America as the VP of Sales and Marketing and was responsible for managing corporate nutrition programs where the focus was on nutrition and behavior change. During his employment with Eat Right America, Rick launched a successful nationwide nutritional challenge in conjunction with Whole Foods Market, participated in Health Immersions with Dr. Fuhrman and Dr. Stoll and was responsible for workplace wellness program development.

Martin K. Miller, DHSc, ATC, CPT, PES, CES, CSCS - Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention Specialist

Marty Miller is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) health and fitness educator with more than 20 years of experience in sports medicine, performance enhancement and injury prevention.
 
His academic credentials include a BS in Sports Medicine and Physical Education from Canisius College (NY) a MS in Exercise Science & Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania, and his Doctorate of Health Sciences from AT Still University in Mesa, AZ.
 
Marty is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and a Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist (MMACS).
His career began in professional baseball in 1994 with the Montreal Expos organization, where as a certified athletic trainer he helped coordinate all aspects of care for major and minor league players. He also assisted in post-operative rehabilitation of players and the administration of team’s strength and conditioning program.
 
Marty left the Expos organization after the 1997 season and was later named the Director of Fitness at the BallenIsles Country Club, a five-star golf course in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, that has hosted the PGA Championship, the World Cup Championship and the PGA Seniors' Championship.
 
At BallenIsles he oversaw the day-to-day operations of an 8,000 square-foot fitness center and supervises a team of 30 health and fitness professionals.  In this position he also trained tennis and golf pros, and during the baseball off-season continued to work with players seeking his performance enhancement and injury-prevention expertise. 
 
Marty also serves as a Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He travels extensively as a health and fitness subject matter expert for lectures and panel discussions, and is an adjunct faculty member with the California University of Pennsylvania, where he instructs online graduate-level courses in Corrective Exercise/Program Design to physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals.
 
Marty became the New York Yankees first ever Director of Performance Enhancement in the spring of 2007.  His job was to evaluate and pre-determine musculo-skeletal injuries and place the players on a corrective exercise protocol while continuing their regular strength and conditioning programs.
In 2008 Marty joined Woodfield Country Club a 40,000 sq ft facility in Boca Raton Florida as their Director of Fitness and Spa Operations.  Woodfield Country Club has a staff of 15 personal trainers and generates revenues of nearly 2 million dollars annually between personal training and healthandage.com.
In 2011 Marty joined Mizner Country Club as their Director of Fitness and Spa operations. Since his arrival at Mizner Country Club the departments revenue has increased over 500% and the club has earned the distinction as one of America’s Healthiest Club’s as well as an Emerald Club status within the private country club industry.  
 
Marty’s personal interests include spending time with his 3 boys, training in martial arts, education, and working out.

Melissa Fox - Vice President Marketing & Communications, Holistic Nutrition & Health Counselor

Melissa Fox is a certified holistic nutrition and health counselor, certified by Columbia University and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.   She is founder of Fox Health Coaching, a company in which she helps clients learn how to upgrade their food from packaged, processed, fatty, fast foods to food that is nourishing, healing, and restorative to the body and mind.

A journalism major, Melissa began her career as a television reporter.  Her passion for health and wellness led her to become the marketing and communications manager for Mercy Health Plans in St. Louis.  While there she helped create and implement multiple programs based on preventing and reversing health conditions.  While at Mercy, Melissa decided to further her passion for holistic health, and began commuting to New York City twice a month to attend the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

After graduation from IIN, Melissa worked at Eat Right America as the director of health and wellness in addition to her private health coaching practice.

Tom Dunnam – Criteria Committee Chair

Tom has over 14 years of experience in the golf and club business serving as a key employee for the Metropolitan (NY) Golf Association from 1994 to 2008.  Much of his tenure was spent working with clubs on a variety of club related issues including clubs service enhancement, member recruitment and retention and long range and strategic planning. 

Since 2008, Tom was in charge of operations at Eat Right America, where he was responsible for managing corporate health retreats for clients.  Tom was a key figure at the firm from the start of the company until the time of the sale of the company’s assets to a Fortune 500 firm.

Tom currently is the Owner and President of Total Health Immersions, LLC – a company focused on running corporate health events and retreats   As a father of a Type 1 diabetic, Tom is passionate about healthy eating and fitness.  He has a BA in Management from St. Leo University and an MBA from the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University.  Tom lives with his wife and two children in New Canaan, Connecticut and spends much of his free time coaching youth sports.  He is also an active volunteer with the American Diabetes Association and the Fairfield County Sports Commission.

Mareya Ibriham – Committee Chair and Recipe Rehab Specialist

Mareya Ibrahim is “The Fit Foody” – a TV chef, writer, educator and award-winning food industry entrepreneur. Her mission is to help show how easy and satisfying it is to ‘make every bite count” with food that feeds your body while saving your sanity, waistline and wallet.

Mareya is a featured chef on “Recipe Rehab,” a new competition style cooking show coming to ABC nationwide in the Fall 2012, helping  to overhaul family favorites nutritiously and deliciously, and was also part of the original YouTube cast.  Her back page column, “The Fit Foody”, appears in Edible Orange County Magazine and every Friday, she can be seen on San Diego Channel 6 news for Fit Foody Friday segments.  Her philosophy on food is ‘feed your body, not your face’ using a plant-forward approach.

Paul Payne – Chief Information Technologist

Paul Payne provides the technical expertise for Prevo Health Solutions. He developed and produced the website and is a key developer of the sophisticated report production system.

Paul brings substantial knowledge and experience to the company. He pioneered numerous Internet projects over the last 18 years and has developed highly advanced data and communication systems for the government during his 40 year professional career.

Andy Richters – Criteria Committee

Andy Richters received his MS in Sports Medicine from Chapman University where he also was the assistant soccer coach in the early 80's and ran the Human Performance Laboratory.  He is currently on the Chapman Hall of Fame Selection Committee.  

His first job out of college was managing SCAR (Sports Conditioning and Rehabilitation), the original Sports Medicine Clinic in Orange County, California, then spent six years as the Fitness Director of the 21 acre Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports Club in Fountain Valley, which at the time had roughly 15,000 members.  

Purchasing one of the very first Unisen/Star Trac treadmills ever made, he became good friends with the owners and ended up spending a 23 year career with Star Trac Fitness, holding down positions in Sales, Marketing and Product Development.  His last seven years were spent servicing Key Accounts as the Vice President.

He has been working for Matrix Fitness/Johnson Health Tech for the past few years as their Vice President of National Accounts.
